Dreamers Writing Contest deadline: January 31
The deadline for the Dreamers Writing Contest on place and home is January 31. Submit a heartfelt story, poem, or essay reflecting on belonging, memory, displacement, or the meaning of home. Open internationally. $250 CAD prize and publication.

As the deadline approaches, we are thinking about the many ways people understand home. For some, it is a place they still return to. For others, it is something they carry with them, or something they are still trying to build. And for many, it exists in memory, language, or longing rather than geography.
Our Dreamers Creative Writing contest, Stories of Migration, Sense of Place and Home, invites writers to explore these ideas in whatever way feels true to them. You do not need to be a migrant to enter. What matters is your connection to the theme, whether that connection comes from lived experience, family history, displacement, belonging, or awareness. We welcome stories that sit with uncertainty, grief, resilience, love, and hope. We also welcome work that challenges easy narratives about borders, identity, and what it means to feel at home.
Submissions are open to writers and artists from anywhere in the world. You may submit fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. The winning entry will receive $250 CAD, two copies of the magazine, and publication online and in print.
If you have been carrying a story about place, migration, or home, this is your invitation to let it take shape.
